About Glen Echo Country Club (GECC):
Glen Echo Country Club, founded in 1901, is the oldest 18-hole golf course west of the Mississippi. We are a full service family-oriented country club featuring an historic golf course, clay tennis courts, an Aquatic Park, fine and casual dining, banquet and private rooms, and a calendar full of golf, swimming, social and family activities.
Our classic course, preserved much as it was when built in 1901, is consistently rated as one of the best around; and among the most challenging. We have hosted numerous championships, including: LPGA events; Men's and Women's state titles; local and regional contests; national amateur competitions; and, of course, the 1904 Olympic Golf Matches: the only time golf was contested for a Gold Medal in Olympic History.
Glen Echo is only minutes from the central business district surrounding Clayton and neighboring communities. Located near the University of Missouri-St. Louis, the majority of our members reside within 20 minutes of the club.
