About Fuzzy Zoeller's Covered Bridge Golf Club:
Covered Bridge (minutes from Louisville) is a Fuzzy Zoeller- designed 18-hole course nestled on a gently rolling plain at the foot of Southern Indiana's famous Floyds Knobs. Each hole has been laid out to emphasize the natural beauty of the landscape and panorama. The par 72 circuit features five lakes, a meandering creek and is pleasantly forested. Greens are gently contoured and trap placement is challenging but not punishing. Paved cart paths connect all tees and carts can be driven anywhere on the course's Zoysia grass fairways. Each hole offers a choice of four separate tees matching the course to the ability level of any player.
Born in New Albany, Indiana, which he still calls home, Zoeller is one of the great characters and competitors the game of golf has ever known. Appreciated for his coolness under pressure while whistling his way down the fairway, he makes it a point to interact with members of the gallery whenever he can. His professional career has produced ten PGA TOUR victories, including the 1979 Masters and the 1984 U.S. Open.
The clubhouse of Covered Bridge was built to offer all of the amenities of a high-end private club, yet deliver an atmosphere that is reflective of Fuzzy’s casual and comfortable personality. "Golf and all the things around it were put here for fun," said Zoeller. "Sometimes I think designers get too tied up in their egos. I just want my guests and my members to have fun."
